  • Subtitles On: W is for...

    03/06/2019 Duração: 01h11min

After being pulled into the webtoon world created by her father, surgical resident Oh Yeon Joo gets entangled with the comic’s annoyingly perfect main character Kang Chul. Like that fling you had in college that you wished you forgot, W: Two Worlds involves short-term ghosting and monstrosities who just won’t go away. That’s the best kind of drama right? Well buckle up folks because my sound guy Jonathan and I explore a whole new world on the magic carpet of mixed drinks: soju and Kungfu Tea. • Subtitles On: It's Raining Demons in Hwayugi

    22/04/2019 Duração: 01h23min

Hwayugi, aka A Korean Odyssey, is a modern fantasy (romance + horror + mythical + badass) adaptation of Journey to the West, a Chinese Ming Dynasty novel about a monk and his three special protectors who travel to the West in search of sacred Buddhist texts. In this modern retelling, the “monk” Jin Sun-mi is your not-so-average real estate CEO who can see spirits and was born with the fate to exorcise demons. She crosses paths with the mischievous Monkey King Son Oh Gong and his frenemies the Bull Demon King Mawang and top idol star/pig god PK. Hijinks ensue! My sister Kim and I fall right into this fantasy to chat about the kdrama love-as-a-contract trope, Lee Seung-Gi’s monkey-esque haircut and more. • Subtitles On: Goblin WYD?

    08/04/2019 Duração: 01h14min

Kim Shin is a goblin and protector of souls who is looking for his human bride to end his immortal life. (At 939 years old, he’s obvs in no rush.) Enter high-school student Ji Eun-tak who summons the Goblin by chance, and ends up falling in love with him. Oh yeah, there’s also a Grim Reaper, who is in charge of taking deceased souls, and a chicken shop owner who’s beautiful AF. My buddy Waldo and I dive deep into Guardian: The Lonely & Great God talking about plot twists, the struggles of dating at 939 years old and my #mcm THE REAPER. • Subtitles On: Keeping Up With The Undead In Kingdom

    25/03/2019 Duração: 01h10min

There’s plenty of grave consequences (and hunger) to go around in the Netflix-produced historical zombie thriller: Kingdom. While strange rumors about a seriously sick king grip the kingdom, the soul-searching crown prince, a badass physician’s assistant and many shifty side characters are the only hope against a mysterious plague overtaking the land. My friend Helena and I discuss all six episodes and try to figure out how Korean extras are so good at being contortionist zombies. MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!   Follow @jeongpodcast on Instagram to get the scoop on upcoming show teasers and more.
